The much awaited first ODI between India and Australia is underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The visitors did not get off to a good start losing skipper Aaron Finch early in the third ball of the first over after winning the toss and deciding to bat on a hot sunny afternoon in Hyderabad. Marcas Stoinis and Usman Khwaja put on an excellent 87 run stand for the second wicket to get the visitors back into the game.
Australia however were jolted with the dismissals of both Stoinis and Khawaja in quick succession before losing their fourth in the form of wicketkeeper batsman Peter Handscomb in the 30th over of the innings. It was once again the combination of chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav and MS Dhoni which did the trick for Team India. It was an excellent from Kuldeep Yadav to start with, bowled much slower at 73.9 kph deceiving the batsman with the flight on it.
Handscomb chipped down the track but was nowhere close to the pitch of the delivery and ended up missing it completely. The ball dipped and turned sharply past the inside edge of the bat slipping past the gap between bat and pad. It was eventually an easy stumping chance for MS Dhoni behind the stumps, who made absolutely no mistake and removed the bails in a flash. Handscomb did not even try to get back and was on his way back to the pavilion much to the joy of the Indian players and supporters.
