WATCH: Rohit Sharma smashes back to back sixes in the same over

After a convincing 2-0 win over the Windies in the recently concluded test series, Team India are currently locking horns with the Carribeans in the first of the five match ODI series at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bowl on a pitch that appeared to be tailor made for batting and likely to remain the same throughout the course of the match. Batting first, West Indies put up an impressive show with the bat in the first innings posting 322/8 in their 50 overs.

Despite losing opener Shikhar Dhawan early on in the innings, Team India never looked back during the run chase with skipper Virat Kohli having come out to bat with all guns blazing. Rohit Sharma at the other end seemed happy to be playing the anchor role for most of the time during his partnership with Kohli. The duo batted beautifully in the middle to bring up yet another hundred run stand between them.

It was not until the penultimate delivery of the 21st over bowled by leg spinner Devendra Bishoo that fans got to witness the real Hitman. Rohit finally decided that he had had enough playing second fiddle to Kohli and charged down the track to meet the ball on the half volley, lofting it over the long on fence for a humongous six. Rohit was hardly done yet as he rocked back to a half tracker bowled by Bishoo on the last ball of the over and muscled it over deep mid wicket for a second consecutive six. Bishoo was left absolutely distraught after being hit for back to back sixes by the Indian vice captain who seemed to be playing a bit too slowly by his standards until then.
