Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar has already made a name for himself with his all round skills in the ongoing edition of the Mumbai T20 League. The 19 year old, who was roped in by Aakash Tigers MWS for RS 5 lakh making him the costliest buy at the auction last week, impressed with both bat and ball, helping the Tigers win the season opener against Triumphs Knights MNE by 5 wickets. Arjun registered figures of 1/21 in 3 overs bowling in the powerplay and contributed with the bat as well scoring 23 off 19 balls after being sent out to bat at no.3.

Arjun was once again impressive with the bat during the Tigers’ second game against Eagle Thane Strikers scoring 23 off 18 balls with the help of a boundary and a six. The 19 year old however did not have a particularly good outing with the ball conceding 30 runs in 3.1 overs as the Strikers beat the Tigers by 6 wickets with 5 balls to spare. It was an off day for Junior Tendulkar in the bowling department after having given a decent account of himself in the previous game who could only be expected to improve as the tournament progresses.

Despite being at the crease for just 18 deliveries, the southpaw’s batting style reminded everyone of his idol Yuvraj Singh. His effortless strokes were a treat to watch for 90’s kids who were so accustomed to seeing the same from Yuvraj in his younger days. The two time World Cup winner himself has mentioned time and again that the only person who could replace him in the Indian cricket team was none other than Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun. Going by his recent performances, it certainly appears as if the 19 year old is well on track to becoming the next superstar in world cricket.
