One sure cannot take ‘Sir’ Ravindra Jadeja out of action, be it on or off-the-field. Jadeja was in the dugout when he took a catch off a six hit by his CSK teammate Suresh Raina in the ongoing IPL match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It was a straight hit down the ground for a maximum from the left hander to open his account against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.
The ball was going straight to the yellow dugout when Jadeja got up from his seat to take the catch. It also meant no one got hurt. It happened in the third over of the Chennai innings and Jadeja took it safe as a house. Raina however did not last for a long time as he was dismissed by Sunil Narine after scoring just 14 off 13 balls.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar was the peak of the bowlers for CSK picking up three wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs as the defending champions restricted KKR to 108/9 in their 20 overs. Chahar shaved off the KKR top order early and was well supported by veteran Harbhajan Singh (2/15 in four overs) who was very economical and Imran Tahir (2/21 in four overs). as Chennai never allowed the visitors to get an upper hand after they were asked to bat first by M.S. Dhoni.
KKR were reduced to 24/4 inside the first five overs, largely due to Chahar who bowled a superb first spell of 3-0-14-3. The defending champions, led admirably by Dhoni, even managed to keep Andre Russell quiet as the big-hitting West Indian scored 50 off 44 balls, his innings laced with five fours and three sixes. KKR never really got going and it looked like they would not cross the 100-run mark before Russell, struggling with niggles, managed to hit Scott Kuggeleijn for one six and two fours as the purple brigade managed to get 15 runs off the last over.
