King’s XI Punjab has defeated Delhi Dynamos by 14 runs in today’s encounter. They have got third win of the competition at IS Bindra Stadium at Mohali. After winning the toss Delhi opted for bowling which took everyone as Suprise.
King’s XI Punjab started the match without Chris Gayle and Andrew Tye and replaced them by Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Sam Curran respectively. KL Rahul could make a impact in this match and got out in 2nd over. However, Curran took charge and kept scoreboard tikking with some great boundaries as well.
Curran performance was short and got out soon. Mayank Agarwal also lacked confidence and couldn’t make much impact in the game.King’s XI Punjab only managed a total of 166/9 in 20 overs with Miller being the top scorer.
Delhi started slow and lost Prithvi Shaw dismissed by Ashwin on the first ball itself. Bit Delhi didn’t took pressure Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Oyer at the crease. However, the DC skipper got out in the 8th over, as Hardus Viljoen dislodged his stumps, it was like a revenge from the bowler.
On the first ball of the 8th over, Shreyas smashed beautiful boundary to Viljoen. However, the bowler avenged it on the very next ball when he delivered a ball wide outside off, and Iyer attempted a drive again, but the ball took the inside edge and crashed into the stumps. The bowler jumped in the air and there was a bit of eye-to-eye action between Iyer and Viljoen after the wicket, but no shoulder barge. However, they came pretty close to pushing each other.
