The Indian Cricket Team are all set to take on Australia at home in their final assignment ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The men in blue are currently in Vizag gearing up nicely for the first T20I to be played at the stadium on February 24. The two teams will play one more T20I before facing each other in the five match ODI series starting from March 2.
Meanwhile, the players were spotted sweating it out in the nets a couple of days ahead of the crucial tie. Skipper Virat Kohli and vice captain Rohit Sharma were seen getting into their groove with the bat in the practice session. The two have been instrumental in India’s success in limited over cricket over the last few years and are currently ranked one and two in the ICC ODI Rankings. The two seemed to be hitting the middle of the bat consistently and timing the ball beautifully at the same time. The duo’s form is expected be play a vital role for the men in blue heading into the World Cup.
As far as the men in blue are concerned, the series is expected to be their final opportunity to form a settled squad for the showpiece event to be held in England later in the year. Virat Kohli will return to captain the side after missing out on the last couple of ODIs and the three match T20I series against New Zealand. The skipper’s return to the mix to definitely provide the added stability to the batting unit which India seemed to be missing in their last few matches.
