We Want To Make Sure That India’s Future Is In Safe Hands, Says Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma and Co have been playing a spectacular brand of cricket for a long time now. Time only will tell whether or not the change in leadership across formats (from Virat Kohli to Rohit Sharma) has worked wonders.

Virat Kohli might have stepped down as captain across formats but the players have been pitching in with good performances time and time again.

Ever since Rohit Sharma took charge as the full-time captain, the operation seems to be going smoothly, so far so good. Under Rohit’s captaincy, India haven’t lost a series in international cricket.

Recently, India clinched the T20I series against West Indies. The Men in Blue will travel all the way to Zimbabwe to play three ODIs against them, starting from August 18.

The last time when both these teams clashed against each other, Pakistan emerged as the victorious side. Pakistan got the better of India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that the team management wants to make sure that the team’s future is in safe hands. “We play a lot of cricket, so there will be injuries and workload management, so we have to rotate players.

“But it gives our bench strength to go and play the game, which is why we could try so many other guys who are ready to take that international stage and perform,” Rohit Sharma said on Star Sports show ‘Follow the Blues’.
