Wenger back in management!? Former Man Utd player speaks out

Arsene Wenger has claimed time and again that he’ll be back in management next year and former Manchester United player Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken up whether the Frenchman will take over at AC Milan, a club with which he is being linked with a return to

Zlatan Ibrahimovic does not believe that the Frenchman will take the charge of AC Milan but he has already opened the door to return to San Siro by himself. Also, as has been reported, Wenger has been Milan’s new owner favourite and personally best choice to replace Gennaro Gattuso in the dugout, though the Frenchman has already distanced himself publically from the role.

And Ibrahimovic, who could return to Europe on loan during the Major League Soccer off-season specifically does not think he will be joined by Arsene  Wenger in Italy any time soon.

Ibrahimovic told L’Equipe, “I don’t think he wants to go to Italy and face the challenge, after all, Milan is not an easy challenge. I think it’s more likely that I’ll come back to Milan than Arsene Wenger will go there.”

“I already know that lots of European clubs are interested. On the other hand, I don’t know what I’m going to do, I know that a lot of European clubs are interested, but I’m happy here. I love my life here and my family do too. And I need a challenge, a reason to keep playing I don’t want to go to a club just because I’m Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

“I want to go to make a difference. That’s what I’ve always done, everywhere.”

On potentially returning to PSG, he asserted, “If I come back to PSG then it’s only to be the manager of the team. I can’t come for anything else. That’s the only way to make me come, there are no other possible positions for me. ‘That’s not for now though, I’m an active player and I still want to play. When I decide what to do, I’ll tell the world”.

Author’s take:

Arsene Wenger holds the record for the most Premier League matches managed after a 22-year spell with Arsenal between 1996 and 2018. Also, he has hinted of going back to his club if possible. The duo of Arsene and Swiss international, if worked together, would create the magic on the field.
