Manchester United is looking to offload some players after splashing big in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have nearly completed their business regarding incomings in this transfer window.
However, they are now set to focus on outgoings since the wage bill is needlessly increasing. There are many players who offer nothing or who would not be getting chances at Old Trafford.
The Manchester based club is looking to cash in on those players in order to balance the books. The Red Devils have improved their squad this summer and they look very threatening with their newly formed attack.
United drop the asking price of Jesse Lingard
According to a report from the Express, Manchester United have dropped their asking price for Jesse Lingard. The asking price is now down to nearly £20 million for the 28-year-old.
However, this is being seen as a huge boost for the West Ham management who want him. The Hammers have been looking at Lingard since his tremendously successful loan spell in the second half last season.
Jesse Lingard was sent to West Ham United on a loan in January. This was because the 28-year-old was hardly getting any game time at Old Trafford. However, to everyone’s surprise, Jesse Lingard had a brilliant loan spell.
In his 16 appearances for them, the lad scored an impressive 9 goals. It was not only goals but his performances that lifted the whole squad. As a matter of fact, West Ham United made a sixth place finish in the Premier League table. Due to that they are going to play a European tournament after many years.
And ever since Jesse Lingard made a return to Manchester United post, his loan spell. The Hammers are constantly trying to bring him back. West Ham United has been trying to bring Lingard since the beginning of the transfer window.
With not many clubs knocking on Manchester United’s door for Lingard, the Red Devils have made a decision to reduce his asking price to £20 million. This is a huge boost for the cash strapped West Ham United, who can now bring in Jesse Lingard.
Lingard keen on the move
Jesse Lingard is keen on moving to West Ham United after the successful loan spell. Even after returning to Old Trafford, he isn’t getting many chances. The 28-year-old wants to start week in and week out. But he understands that would not happen at Manchester United.
And as a matter of fact, he is ready to move to West Ham United. From now on, it is looking more likely that the Hammers will get their man. But it is a race against time for them since only two weeks are left for the closure of the summer transfer window.
West Ham United will have to work quickly towards the deal. Firstly, they should agree the fee with Manchester United which itself has been a long process. But if they complete the signing on time, this would be a huge statement from them going into the new season.
