The game took place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Lucknow Super Giants finished third on the points table whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore finished fourth on the table.
Both teams went toe-to-toe with each other in the Eliminator. Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore came through with flying colours in the peak encounter.
RCB will take on Rajasthan Royals in the second qualifier at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of qualifier 2 will play against Gujarat Titans in the final on May 29.

The duo added 66-run stand for the second wicket before Avesh Khan dismissed Virat Kohli for 25 runs. Rajat Patidar was the pick of the batters for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The 28-year-old Indore-born cricketer grew from strength to strength and scored an impeccable knock in the important clash. He went on to score a century in the playoffs. Moreover, he is also the first uncapped player to score a ton in playoffs.
RCB posted a colossal total of 207 for the loss of 4 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants managed to score 193/6. They lost the game by 14 runs.

Rajat Patidar was named the man of the match for his incredible batting. The 28-year-old Indore-born cricketer scored an unbeaten 112 off 54 balls.
He constructed his innings with the help of 12 fours and 7 sixes. At the post-match presentation, he said, “When I time the ball, my focus was on it. The last over of the powerplay when Krunal was bowling to me, my execution went fine then and I got confident afterwards.
“The wicket was pretty good and I played some good shots. I never feel any pressure as I think I have the ability to make up for the dots, I was busy after the 2021 IPL playing for my club. I wasn’t picked after the 2021 IPL but that wasn’t in my control.”
