Ask any Arsenal fan across the globe about what their team’s chances of winning the Premier League this season are and you will only get a couple of responses. If the individuals are highly deluded and on some really good “stuff”, the reply would be, “We will surely win it this season!”. Otherwise, the standard response would be, “Wenger out!! Once Arsene Wenger leaves the Emirates.”
Now, the title would have made it clear that I belong to the second category and do not wish to be part of the CIRCUS that tries to be smart and persuasive and wants us to keep our FAITH in the Frenchman, who is undoubtedly the best manager we might have ever had.
However, that is due to his overall record, since he took over the Gunners. The multi-FA Cup winning coach, only “Golden Trophy” holder ever in the Premier League’s history, has many credentials to his name, which can fill in books.
Despite that, can it win him a Champions League trophy? Can it help win the top flight of English football once again? Having a successful past is a great start, yet that does not mean anything when u have failed in your present and are driving the club slowly into the ground. It just can’t go on.
Now, some of the Arsenal fans will argue that our future is still really bright. We don’t need trophies to prove what a great club we are. Look at our style of play. What beautiful football we play!!
This is totally lame. A bunch of excuses are being thrown around to defend a man who needs to go and it will soon be the epitome of hypocrisy as we know it and I will clearly explain why.
Imagine a manager like Pep Guardiola had taken over the club. Would the fans then be content with a top four finish, year after year, for a decade?? 20-25 odd years without a league trophy and such mediocre displays in Europe?
Stop talking about the profits that Wenger makes for the club. As champions of England or even Europe, we could have done much more, not just with respect to money, but our legacy as well!!
Respecting a manager based on his past is fine, yet defending his incompetence to adapt season after season is the sign of an “idiot”.
He gives “us” the standard pre-new year hope that “YES WE CAN” and eventually we get kicked below the belt where it hurts the most.
Also, the money excuse is gone now. The so called trend of spending too much and buying trophies was buried last season, when Leicester City earned their way to the top.
The team does not lack quality. It lacks spirit. The spirit to be CHAMPIONS. Wenger has failed to change that. He has seen his top stars perform at their very best and leave. He has failed to retain them.
He has failed to buy the right kind of players. He has been a miser and has persisted with injury prone stars like Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere, over and over again.
NO!! I will not stop supporting the club that I love, but, I will not stand for this brilliant manager, who is now working in a “nonsensical manner”, turn Arsenal into a laughing stock.
We all know that the higher authority in London will never sack him, which is why he must go himself, while he still has some pride left!!
