WI VS IND: West Indies national cricket team locked horns with the Indian national cricket team in the fifth and the final T20I in Florida on Sunday.

Batting first, Team India posted a massive total of 188/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer silenced the critics once again by scoring runs when it mattered the most.

The right-handed batter scored 64 runs of 40 deliveries with the help of eight boundaries and 2 sixes. On the other side of the coin, Odean Smith was the pick of the bowlers for West Indies.

He accounted for three dismissals. In reply, West Indies were not even close to posing a threat to the Indians. They were bowled out for just 100 runs inside 16 overs.

WI VS IND: Spinners create historic record in the fifth T20I against West Indies

Indian spinners namely Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc on the West Indies’ batting line-up. The hosts literally found it tough to go about their business.

For sure, they struggled to get going in the run-chase and also went on to lose wicket at regular intervals. Axar, Bishnoi and Kuldeep scripted a historic record in the fifth T20I against West Indies.

The spin trio bagged as many as 10 wickets in the game. Quite interestingly, this is also the very first time that spinners took all the 10 wickets in a game.

Ravi Bishnoi took 4 wickets to his name in 2.4 overs, giving away 16 runs. On the other hand, Axar Patel took 3/15 in 3 overs and also bowled a maiden over. Kuldeep Yadav took 3/12 in his quota of 4 overs and also bowled a maiden over.

Axar Patel was named the man of the match for his bowling masterclass. “I was just focussing on keeping things simple, instead of trying too many things. Was just looking to use the surface to my advantage.

“The surfaces have been helpful for me, so that has proved advantageous to me. Both in the ODIs and T20s, the pitches were fairly same. I don’t mind people calling me just an all-rounder, if I do well with the ball, I’ll be a bowling all-rounder, if with the bat, then a batting all-rounder,” he said at the post-match presentation.
