Veteran Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure, will be allowed to join any other Premier League next January as the Citizens are even ready to sell the 33-year-old to a direct league rival.
However, the Ivorian national has still not decided as of yet if he will leave in January regardless of Guardiola’s decision of not playing him unless his agent, Dimitri Seluk, apologises to the club. Reports have it that the Manchester club will permit Toure to leave the club to another English team, even if they are competing against the Citizens for the Premier League title.
The perspective at the Manchester City thinktank is that the 33-year-old has gone past his prime and if the former Barcelona player departs for a direct-rival, it will not halt the chances of Manchester City winning the Premier League this season.
Regardless of Toure’s miserable situation at the Etihad Stadium, there might be a possibility of the Ivorian playing for the Citizens once again, also seeing out a contract of €255,000-a-week which runs till next June. Nonetheless, Pep Guardiola has remained firm that Toure’s agent, Seluk will have to apologize for accusing the Spaniard of humiliating Toure by excluding him from Manchester City’s Champions League squad. and which finishes next June. On the contrary, Seluk has also remained firm that there will be no apology by him.
As the Ivorian has also retired from international football, there are a lot of chances that he might not play football until the end of this season unless he leaves the Etihad Stadium this January.
Moreover, if his agent apologizes, Toure’s chances of first-team action at City are very less as he has only played once in Guardiola’s tenure at City so far.
