The Frenchmen apparently has been linked with David De Gea and wants this player as well.
Ever since the return of Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid boss, all the elite clubs across Europe are keen to keep hold of their star players. The likes of PSG, Chelsea are already negotiating with their star players. With the likes of Sadio Mane, Adrien Rabiot, Paul Pogba and Miralem Pjanic constantly linked with Zidane, it seems it will be an exciting summer for Real Madrid fans. With Manchester United set to begin contract talks with Paul Pogba, it seems Zidane wants this Manchester United star as well.

Zinedine Zidane has told Real Madrid he wants to bring Eric Bailly to the club this summer, reports say. The Manchester United centre-back is set to be offloaded at the end of the season after struggling with injuries and falling out of favour in the last year. Bailly was Jose Mourinho’s first signing as United boss, but has found himself continually sidelined throughout the season. United’s search for a new centre-back has not gone unnoticed by Bailly’s team and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to sign at least one defender this summer. The Ivorian has lost his place in the United first-team this season after suffering a series of injuries and is willing to move on in the upcoming window. Sources close to Bailly have heard bosses at the Bernabeu have him on a list of first-tier options, having been beaten by United when he left Spanish side Villarreal back in 2016 for £30m.
Real boss Zinedine Zidane is understood to remain a fan of the player from his previous time in La Liga and Bailly’s name has been put forward to the legendary Frenchman. Bailly still has 15 months left on his deal at United but talks over an extension have been left on the back burner, which has only added to the Ivory Coast international’s frustration. United are prepared to sell Bailly for £35million, with Arsenal also keen to sign the Ivory Coast international. Bailly has just 15 months left on his current deal at Old Trafford, but talks with United about a possible extension have been shelved. Real have been linked with a host of United stars since Zidane returned to the club in March, including Paul Pogba and David de Gea.
Bailly has made started just 13 games in all competitions this season and he remains a huge doubt for the Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona. Solskjaer’s side could propose a player-plus-cash deal including Bailly to increase their chances of luring Raphael Varane away from the Bernabeu.
Author’s Take:
United would be happy to see Bailly join Madrid rather than Pogba. The Ivorian needs to reinvigorate his career and a move back to La Liga would be perfect.
