Paul Pogba struggled with his performance in his early days of joining United, however after spending some time with the club the player has finally found his form as a midfielder for the club. Time was what this player needed feels his teammate Zlatan as well as his manager Mourinho.

Paul Pogba was signed for Manchester United this summer for a whopping 89 million pounds along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic who was available for a free transfer. While Zlatan started making an impact on the game from first match onwards, Paul Pogba was unusually quiet on the field, and his performance had deteriorated as compared to Juventus.

While the fans started questioning the French player’s worth, the manager also agreed that the player was finding it hard to adapt to the English league.

Recently in an interview with ESPN Zlatan Ibrahimovic also agreed that this player needed some time to adapt to this style of football, and he was finding very hard to justify the 89 million pounds worth of transfer.

Speaking to ESPN FC this 35-year-old striker said “I think when Paul came, in his first period in United, let’s say the first month, I think he wanted to demonstrate too much that he was worth the transfer that happened instead of playing his game like he knows how to play,”

Adding to his statement Zlatan further said “When that started to cool down, he started to play like he knows how to play, and he makes it more easier for himself, doesn’t need to demonstrate because everyone knows who Paul is, what he has been doing at Juventus for the past three to four years, what he’s able to do, and now he’s playing more like Pogba.

“He has nothing to demonstrate, he has nothing to show, he just needs to enjoy the game and help the team like he’s doing now. So now he’s playing like a mature player, and you see the results.”

Commenting on the recent performance of Pogba  former Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho said “He can play in so many positions. The problem is not the position. The problem is not the tactical system.”

“The problem is, in my opinion, somebody that comes from a different style of football and needs this time to be at his best level in football that is really difficult to play, especially for midfield players.”

He even went on to claim that this defender can even justify himself as a central defender for the team.

“With the quality of his pass, with his aerial game, with his agility in such a big body, for his defensive side of the game, coming from the back with the ball, he would be a phenomenal central defender, too,” he said.

While Paul Pogba is yet to prove his worth to his club, free transfer Zlatan has definitely made Mourinho proud of his decision, scoring 17 goals in last 10 games. This former PSG player also ended the year 2016 with 50 goals in this year and is only second to Lionel Messi who has scored 51 goals across all competitions.
